DEF LEPPARD, POISON, CHEAP TRICK Kick Off Summer Tour: Video Footage, Photos Available

June 24, 2009

Last night (Tuesday, June 23),DEF LEPPARD, POISON and CHEAP TRICK kicked off their 2009 North American tour with a smashing show in Camden, New Jersey. For almost one hour and 45 minutes, LEPPARD played a selection of their biggest hits in front of an enthusiastic, near sold-out crowd at the Susquehana Bank Center.

According to POISON drummer Rikki Rockett — who last August threatened DEF LEPPARD singer Joe Elliott with a beatdown following Elliott's onstage outburst in which Joe reportedly called Rockett a "fucking idiot [who has] never seen a good band before" — he and Elliott "greeted each other with a hug" backstage "and bid each other good luck with the show!" Rikki added, "[It was a] great opening night. It's great to be out here with DEF LEPPARD and CHEAP TRICK for the summer!"

For the next two and a half months, the three bands will travel all across the States (with a short stop in Canada),to play a total of 43 shows. On September 12, the tour will end when the final show will be played in Auburn, WA.
